What is the advantage of using UAE PASS?
UAE PASS allows a seamless experience when signing up for an account. UAE nationals do not need to upload any documents, provided that the required documents are available on UAE PASS. Expatriates in the UAE are required to scan their passport. Successfully onboarded customers get an account with no debit restrictions and an active virtual debit card instantly to start funding and spending. A physical card will be sent on request, which can be done easily through the app.
How old do I need to be to open an account?
You must be at least 18 years of age to open a Savings Account, and at least 21 to open a Current Account. For those below 18 years of age, accounts will have to be opened by a natural parent. An account opened by the father will have full functionality. An account opened by the mother, under the grantor principle of Shariah, will be considered as a conditional gift account - which means the child will only be able to receive/send funds from/to their mother.
What documents do I need to open a child’s account and how do I do it?
Parents who want to onboard their child need to keep their Emirates ID, Passport and Birth Certificate handy. These are the only documents required.
